Here are some photos from a literary competition (at College Jean-de-Brébeuf) for which I’ve been a judge for the past four years. Every year they invite me to their award ceremony (usually held at the end of April, beginning of May), which is such a pleasure to attend.
I love reading and, eventually, hearing these kids. Raw creative energy detonates from their (often) tiny bodies, ginormous voices.
At the end of the contest, they publish Footsteps–a literary mag which contains all of the winning stories/poems.
I’m so proud of these kids and glad that their school offers them the possibility to express themselves in creative ways using words.
The event is wonderfully organized by Jeremy Cohen and his team.
