Edits, Edits, Edits… and More Edits

Going over Ocean Vuong and Karen Solie’s edits of my poems.

I had the pleasure of meeting them at the Banff Centre during my Writing Studio residency in May 2017.

Karen’s edits were so meticulous, every semi-colon was interrogated; I loved it:

Ocean was all about naming other poets for spark + pushing your personal myth:

Writing must be 73% editing.

In the final sprint: editing over editing, with an editing cherry on top.

I look forward to creating again soon. This editing business is… exhausting.
